Flapper Dresses

Finding a genuine flapper dress pattern is easier than you think. The all time favorite flapper dress pattern is shown on the right hand side of this page. It is the "One Hour Dress of 1924" designed by Mary Brooks Picken.

Paper patterns only came into existence in the early 1920's at the same time as flappers. Before then most women learned to draft their own patterns.

There are several other ways of obtaining a flapper dress pattern other than the "One Hour Dress" pattern we sell.

We have listed a bunch of other 1920's dress patterns that are available for sale online in the listings below. This is a cheap way to buy a genuine 1920's dress pattern. Some of the items are new, while others are used. Sometimes there may be pieces missing from the used patterns so it can be a bit hit and miss. The paper may also be very fragile.

Another alternative are websites that purchase the old flapper dress patterns and digitize them then create new patterns. This is usually more expensive but you know you are getting the complete pattern.
