1920’s Rings

Beautiful filigree engagement rings in the Art Deco style made from white gold or platinum and set with diamonds, rubies, aquamarine, onyx, sapphire or pearl were a feature of the 1920's. The main part of the ring was usually covered in finely detailed engravings of floral, lacey or geometric designs. Platinum was the precious metal of choice for expensive jewelry. New techniques for working with platinum were developed which made possible the intricately detailed designs. The rings have a timeless elegant quality and are much sort after today by collectors of fine jewelry.

Costume jewelry also followed the Art Deco style but focused more on semi-precious stones or cheaper materials for decoration. The rings generally featured bold dramatic designs and strong colors.
